Livestock events planned for 4-H Achievement Days

The Edmunds County 4-H Achievement Days are quickly approaching. There are several livestock events planned for the three days.

The Dog Show will start off the three days at the 4-H Building on Wednesday, July 31 at 8 a.m. The dogs will be judged on agility, rally, obedience, and showmanship. The dog show will be followed by the Cat Show. That afternoon at 4 p.m. will be the Open Youth Horse Show and Fun Day. This event will be held at the Trail Days Arena. The participants will show their talent in barrels, poles, showmanship, boot scramble, and several other fun events.

Thursday you have several livestock events to check out. The poultry show will begin at 8:30 a.m. The Heifer Futurity Contest will take place at 1 p.m. at the Trail Days Arena. Later in the afternoon you can watch the Rabbit Show at 2 p.m. The rabbit show will be under the tent by the livestock barn. There will also be a Parade of Animals to the Nursing Home at 6 p.m.

Friday is also filled with livestock events. The Livestock Show begins at 8:30 a.m. with the judging of swine entries. Sheep, Dairy, Goat, and Beef entries will follow.

Achievement Days will culminate with the livestock Premium Sale on Friday starting at 7:30 p.m.
