County 4-Hers earn ribbons during Achievement Days

Edmunds County 4-H Members displayed their 2019 projects and animals at the 4-H Achievement Days held July 31 – August 2 in Ipswich.

Crowned 4-H royalty were Queen Myra Toennies, daughter of Tim and Kristi Toennies, King Nathan Preszler, son of Jason and Heidi Preszler, Cloverbud Princess Layla Fuller, daughter of Justin and Lindsey Fuller, and Cloverbud Prince Ben Hoyle, son of Joe and Danielle Hoyle.

The Secret Alumni was revealed on Friday evening as Kaitlyn Sandmeier. The first correct guess came from John Jung.

The Dog Show was held on Wednesday morning at the 4-H Building in Ipswich. Results were as follows:

The Horse Show and Play Day was held on Wednesday evening at the Trail Days Arena. We had three different age divisions. Cloverbud and Beginners, Juniors and Senior, and Adults. Winners were: Stock Seat Equitation – Emerald Wittmeier, Quincy Olivier and Clay Olivier; Egg and Spoon Race – Treyton Hutson, Jalyssa Hutson, and Jailey Hutson; Barrel Racing – Jacey Rossow, Quincy Olivier, and Mindy Henderson; Flag Race – Jacob Volk, Jailey Hutson, and Clay Olivier; Boot Scramble – Jalyssa Hutson and Quincy Olivier; Ribbon Race Emerald Wittmeier and Jacey Rossow and Jailey Hutson and Quincy Olivier; Pole Bending – Jacey Rossow, Quincy Olivier and Clay Olivier; Musical Hoops – Emerald Wittmeier; Key Hole Race - Jacey Rossow, Quincy Olivier and Clay Olivier; Kool-Aid Race –Emerald Wittmeier and Quincy Olivier.

Thursday started off with the entering and judging of poultry exhibits followed by the judging of static exhibits. In the afternoon was the rabbit show and Nursing Home Visit.

The Pre 4-H exhibiting livestock on Friday evening were: Wyatt Holmes – Sheep, Ben Hoyle – Goat, and Weston Weisser – Goat.
