OWENS - OLTMANS WED

On Saturday, December 31, 1927, at 4:00 p.m. occurred the marriage of Miss Lilliam Oltmans of Avon, SD to Robert Owens of Ipswich. The ceremony took place at the First Presbyterian church at Avon. Rev. O. B. Oltmans, father of the bride reading the service. The bride’s attendants were Miss Henrietta Oltmans, sister of the bride as maid of honor and two bridesmaids, Miss Lucille Christenson of Elk Point and Miss May Schutjer of Lennox. Robert Morgan of Ipswich was groomsman.

The groom is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Owens of Ipswich. He graduated from Ipswich High School with the class of 1915. He was in the service during the World War. He has recently been connected with the state highway department. He has had a leave of absence to assist his father with the coal business this winter.

After the ceremony a wedding dinner and reception was held at the bride’s home, following which Mr. and Mrs. Owens left for a wedding trip to Yankton and Sioux Falls. They will make their home in Ipswich for the present.
