Sally Blomster

Memorial services for Sally E. Blomster, 72, of Wetonka, will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church, Aberdeen, with Pastor Donald Buck officiating.  Burial and graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Pembrook Cemetery, Wetonka.  Sally passed away Monday, November 18 at her residence.

 Sally was born on September 20, 1947 to CJC and Fern (Erdman) Boulais of Mina. She attended Pembrook Township, Simmons Junior High, and Aberdeen Central High Schools. She received her Bachelor of Science in Art Education from Northern State Teachers College (NSU); and began teaching at Monroe Junior High in Aberdeen.

On December 27, 1969, she married John Blomster. For 50 years, they have lived in rural Wetonka. She was active in Mina Ladies Aid, Pioneer Extension Club, 4H Clubs, Town & Country CowBelles, and the First Presbyterian Church.

In 1986, she became a graphic designer at The Comet weekly newspaper. She taught at Ipswich Public School from 1989 until retirement.

Her passion for art was obvious in her home and family. She loved retirement: reading, photography, swimming, sewing, gardening, and home improvement.

Supporting her children, Bridgette, JohnErik, and Jay, in their various activities was a big part of her life; 4-H Club, music lessons, farm life, and church. Her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren were her most recent inspirations.

Grateful for having shared Sally's life are husband, John Blomster of Wetonka; children, Bridgette Moses of Anchorage, Ak., JohnErik (Holly) Blomster of Eden Prairie, Minn., Jay (Jennifer) Blomster, Rose Hill, Kan.; grandchildren, Maria (James) Ford, John Michael Moses, Alexander, Evelyn and Elliot Blomster, Bayley Blomster; great-grandchildren: John, Wyatt, Audrianna, and Gracin Ford; sisters, Cecelia Boulais and Nancy Mitchell-Jones of Oakville, Wash.; and brother, Charles (Gloria) Boulais of Mina; nieces, Britt Glassburn, Kimberly (Marco) DeFilippis, Deborah (Andrew) Dale, Michele Benjamin, and Kellee (Brent) Kruse; nephews, Jordan Boulais and Michael Hostetter.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Joseph Calvin and Fern Boulais.
