The early printing deadline for this week's editions meant that details of last weekend's sports schedules were unavailable in time for that deadline.
But we can indeed say this — the North Central Thunder boys' basketball team made a trip into North Dakota last Thursday and came home with a 60-46 victory over South Border. Meanwhile, the Ipswich varsity hoops' teams split a home-court twinbill vs. Webster Area last Saturday. The Tiger girls won their varsity outcome 62-51, but the Webster boys held on for a 71-66 victory over the Tigers.
The Ipswich Area wrestlers also attended a Saturday tourney in Plankinton with details not yet known.
The NC Thunder girls are idle until January 2, also visiting North Dakota to face Strasburg/Zeeland in Strasburg. The Thunder boys will play in a Big Bo Classic vs. Rapid City Christian on December 28 at 3:30 p.m. in Wolsey.
Talking about classics, the Ipswich girls' hoops' team will be appearing in a Huron Classic on Saturday, December 28 with their opponent to be Sanborn Central/ Woonsocket at 2:30 p.m. and the Tiger boys will also visit Huron for their own classic appearance on Monday, Dec. 30 vs. Ethan at 1:00 p.m. The Tiger boys will then make a January 4 road trip to face Waubay/Summit and return home to host Northwestern Area on January 7.
