The Library Remembers When...

From the Ipswich Tribune

February 20, 1924 edition

Saturday evening last the fine large barn on the Julius Habeck farm, 2 1/2 miles northeast of Ipswich burned down and fifteen hogs, some calves and a quantity of feed was destroyed. One horse was quite badly singed in making his escape.

The case of the fire is unknown. Mr. Habeck carried $2,000.00 insurance on the building, probably two-thirds of its value.
