Ipswich split a pair of boys high school non-conference decisions recently. The Tigers traveled to Herreid/Selby Area last Friday and sustained a 58-44 setback, but regrouped for an impressive 75-43 win over Highmore-Harrold Saturday afternoon in the Tiger Den.
Ipswich got the latter outcome off to a quick 7-0 start with a basket by Will Kadlec, followed by his basket plus foul shot. Josh McQuarie then chimed in with a layup before the visitors would respond with a two-point basket. But they would never ever lead in the contest. The Tigers would create a 19-10 first-quarter scoring advantage, followed by a 39-20 halftime edge. They then would lead 61-31 after three quarters and would coast to their win. (Their largest lead in the game was 35 points.)

Altogether they were led by Telson Cowan with 13 points, Dylan McDonnell with 12 points and Paynter Remington also in double-figures with 11 points.

Ipswich also utilized 18 assists, led by Gilbert, Max Geditz and Thorson with four apiece. The Tigers only sustained eight turnovers; H-H, 14. Ipswich obtained a dozen steals, paced by Ty Kadlec's four.
Meanwhile vs. HSA, Ipswich got yet another game-high 24-points scoring evening from Will Kadlec and he featured all four of the Tiger treys in the game. But after that, McQuarie totaled seven points, followed by Gilbert and Severson with four points each. Max Geditz and Thorson each added two points and Ty Kadlec a free throw.
The hosts received a balanced scoring attack, led by Clayton Randall II with 18 points, followed by Wade Begemen with 11 points and four remaining players scored led by Dawson Zabel and Colton Schumacher with nine counters apiece.

Ipswich had been narrowly outscored 7-6 after a quarter, but carried a 19-16 halftime lead to its lockers. But the hosts regrouped for an impressive 21-6 third-quarter scoring effort and narrowly edged Ipswich 21-19 in the final stanza as well.
