The availability of hand sanitizer has become nearly non-existent.
Edmunds County Emergency Manager, Leland Treichel, reached out to Glacial Lakes Energy (GLE) at Mina after hearing of some distilleries and wineries converting to the production of hand sanitizer products.
Glacial Lakes immediately stepped up to fill the needs of Edmunds County healthcare systems, ambulance services and fire departments by delivering 250 gallons of 70% ethyl alcohol antiseptic for their use from their Watertown facility.
"This valuable asset will keep our frontline people protected by providing an ample supply of sanitizer for their use during the Covid-19 pandemic," said Treichel. "There are not enough words to express our gratitude. If you are from Edmunds County and have a flex fuel vehicle, please start using ethanol on a regular basis to say 'thank you' for their generosity. The ethanol industry is also struggling during these trying times. This renewable resource is a valuable commodity for our area and supports our agri-business community," said Treichel.
