Governor Kristi Noem announced her “Back to Normal” plan for South Dakota regarding the COVID-19 ongoing pandemic.
The Governor says the plan puts the decision making “in the hands of the people, where it belongs.”
“I know that we would love to see all of the kids around the school again,” said Ipswich Superintendent Trent Osborne, “but I don't believe the Governor will go back on her direction for education in the state.” He said it took time for us to change our gears and get into the groove with flexible learning and would take time for administration and teachers to plan for the final weeks and get kids back into the groove again in the classroom.
“We would get back to normal, just in time to shut things down again. I don't believe that would be an effective use of anyone's time.” Osborne said.
AWARDS NIGHT
Regarding Awards Night High School Principal Dan Knust said, “We plan on videoing all of the awards/ presentations. Groups and families who are doing scholarships or awards may video themselves announcing the award and send it to my cell phone (605-690-2132).” Knust said they will make up a video of all the awards and release it on May 14 at 7 p.m, the time of the planned awards night.
