POPPY DAY MAY 23
The Saturday before Memorial Day-May 23- has been designated “Poppy Day” by Legion and Auxiliary chiefs. The official Legion poppy is marked by a “sticker”, so that persons wishing to aid the disabled may know which to buy. All Legion poppies are made by disabled veterans in home and hospital under Legion supervision. Legion Posts and Auxiliary units throughout South Dakota buy them, the money going to the boys who make them. Remember this is on “Poppy Day”-May 23rd.
