Ipsodak chapter National Honor Society welcomes new members

The Ipsodak Chapter of National Honor Society (NHS) inducted new members on Oct. 13, 2020 in the School Theatre.

The 2020 Inductees are Holly Anderson, Kirsten Anderson, Kaden Boettcher, Emily DeRaad, Zach Geditz, Carson Gohl, Matthew Jaenisch, Chloe Jager, Ty Kadlec, Gavin Koch and Taylor Thorson.

Local NHS president Halle Heinz was the emcee for the induction ceremony. Members Ashton Loken, Katelyn Geditz, Lindsey Grabowska and Matthew Hettich told about the four NHS requirements - scholarship, leadership, service and character.

Principal Dan Knust led the members in the NHS Pledge. Advisors Kaye Wickard and Carol Lacher presented NHS Certificates to the new members.

IHS Superintendent Trent Osborne spoke. He encouraged the NHS members to "let your Tiger out" and Dare to Dream. The IHS Vision Statement is "Dare to dream it, work to achieve it."

The current Ipsodak NHS members are: Hailey Bierman., Bridget Fuhrmann, Katelyn Geditz, Lindsey Grabowska, Halle Heinz, Matthew Hettich, Tarynn Kleffman, Ashton Loken, Paige Maher, Paige Mehlberg, Chesney Olivier, Bailey Pitz, Kaitlyn Preszler, Angeline Rye, Austin Russell, Eric Severson, Tyler Tran and Orchid Wilcox.

A reception for the members and their families was held after the induction ceremony.
