IHS netters win in Leola

The Ipswich netters swept Leola/Frederick Area 25-11, 25-17 and 24-18 last Monday at Leola in a league clash.

The Tigers were 86-99 in hitting with 38 kills, They were led by Lindsey Grabowska 20-21 with 10 kills and Hailey Bierman 20-22 also with 10 kills.

The setting effort to make the offense click was led by Halle Heinz, 44-47 with 16 assists and Bailey Pitz 32-32 with 10 assists. Totally Ipswich was 94-97 with 32 assists.

Ipswich found daylight for nine service aces and was successfully able to total 68 serves with only two missed attempts.

You may credit Grabowska with 18 accurate serves that featured two aces and Chesney Olivier was 17-17 at the line with four aces and next was Heinz, going 11-11 there.

Ipswich had five solo blocks and two assisted, paced by Hailey Bierman, with two solo efforts.

The Tigers also came up with 98 digs, led by Grabowska with 33 and Chesney Olivier with 25. Pitz added 10.

Their record was 18-5 after that victory. They were scheduled to play Herreid/Selby Area in Selby on Monday.

Region 2B play is set to begin Nov. 2, continuing on Nov. 3 and 5. The pairings are pending the outcomes of this week's regular-season matches.
