Ipswich Lumber hosted a retirement open house for Woody Schuldt on Friday afternoon.
Woody said he has been in Ipswich for 34 years, coming to work at McCleary Lumber.
It has been many good years, he said. "I have lots of memories of my time here," he said. Woody says that he is impressed by the number of independent contractors in the Ipswich area, especially for a town of its size.
He has had 56 years in the lumber service.
Woody said he figured out how many miles he drove from his home in Faulkton to Ipswich, Monday through Friday (not including the Saturdays he would come to work) and the total was 700,000 miles.
He and his wife Sandy planned to travel, but he said they may put that off a year until the pandemic is under control.
