Holiday festivities this week in several local businesses

This week is the Hometown Holiday Weekend, Dec. 10-12.

Some of the activities planned include:

• Gingerbread House Contest - open to all ages. Bring your completed display to the Edmunds County Courthouse Community Room by noon on Friday, Dec. 11. Prizes will be awarded.

• The Lighted Lane decorations can be seen in the area of Avantara Ipswich nursing home and south of the Ipswich baseball field.

• View the Christmas trees in the Courthouse Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12.

• The annual Highway of Hope Holiday Vendor Fair will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday in Father Bormann Hall in Ipswich. There will be a children’s carnival from 10 a.m. until noon and then Santa will visit at noon.

• You can win $100 Ipswich Business Bucks. Sign up at the participating businesses Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
