Ipswich athletes named to All-State teams

The annual high school autumn sports recognition has gotten underway as voted upon by South Dakota Coaches.

Girls first! Ipswich's Chesney Olivier, a senior, has been named to the girls' Class B all-state team after moving up from honorable mention last year. She accrued 33 aces, 687 digs and 88 assists among her other attributes.

The Lake Region Conference that included Ipswich was well represented in this year's balloting, featuring two first teamers from State B champion Northwestern, Sydney Schell and Hannah Schentzel. Warner and Faulkton each had one first-teamer, Ava Nilsson from the Monarchs and Peyton Melius from Faulkton.

Now to the boys’ Class 9A football listing! Ipswich/Edmunds Central obtained Zach Geditz a junior Defensive Lineman, Luke Peterson a junior Linebacker, and Matthew Hettich a senior Defensive Back. Senior Josh McQuarie was honorable mention.

Meanwhile Warner, the LRC champion and state runners-up, landed four players on the main team, Ty Cramer, Landon Leidholt, Jackson McNeil and Alex Braun. Yet another LRC member North Border placed Isaac Sumption.
