The Ipswich/Bowdle wrestling team competed on Thursday, Feb. 4 in Faulkton at the Lake Region Conference Tournament.
The Tigers beat Warner/ Northwestern in the first dual 42-18. In the second dual of the night the Tigers faced Faulkton Area. At the end of the dual the scoreboard was tied 36-36. The decision then went down to criteria and the Tigers had more forfeits than the Trojans giving Faulkton Area the dual and conference win.
"I felt that the athletes have shown a lot of improvement this week," said Coach Todd Naasz. "They came together and wrestled as a team in the dual and fought for every point," he said.

Friday, Feb. 5 the Tigers traveled to Warner to face Warner/ Northwestern and Potter County in dual action.
Ipswich/Bowdle faced Potter County in their first dual of the night. The Tigers came out on top against the Battlers winning the dual 42-21. In the final match of the night Warner/Northwestern turned the tables on the Tigers avenging their loss the night before winning 31-30.
The Tigers were to see action in a triangular on Tuesday, Feb. 9 in Miller. They faced Miller/Highmore-Harrold and Wessington Springs/Woonsocket/Wolsey-Wessington in the final regular-season action.
The team will spend the rest of its time preparing for the regional tournament on Feb. 20 in Groton.
Coach Naasz is looking forward to the regional tournament. "With the improvements that we have made and having the opportunity to slow things down before regions I'm expecting our athletes to continue to show a lot of growth in the next week. I believe our athletes have a great opportunity to qualify and compete at the State Wrestling Tournament."
