4-H Shooters earn trips to State Shoot

The Edmunds County Shooting Sports held their first postal on February 15. Shooting a qualifying score enables the shooter to participate in the State Shoot in Ft. Pierre on April 23-25.

Nine BB Gun shooters showed their skills in standing, kneeling, sitting, and prone positions and 15 archers competed. BB Gun members are coached by Ryan Holien and Joe Galbraith, and archery is coached by Jim Kanable.

Qualifying for state in BB Gun were Beginners Ashlyn Heilman-280, Ben Hoyle-301.1; Juniors Lincoln Beyers-320, and Nevaeh Moser-322.

Other BB Gun shooters were Grayson Beyers, Hannah Beyers, Isabella Galbraith, Sydney Holmes, and Adelyn Pollock.

Archers qualifying for state were Beginners Seth DeRaad-CWOS-78, Gage Sylte-CWOS-99.2; Juniors Jace Bender-CWS-R-115.2, Lincoln Beyers-CSOS-72, Alexis Fischer-CWS-R-120.6, Jillian Fischer-CWS-R-116.3, Nevaeh Moser-CSOS-79, Gabriel Johnson-CWS-R-141.9, Kingston Sylte-CWS-R-107; Seniors Hannah Beyers-CWOS-71, Grant Fischer-CWS-R-124.2, and Caleb Johnson-CWS-R-145.8.

Other archery shooters were Jaxson Bender, Grayson Beyers, and Elaina Morales.

Members will continue to meet on Monday to practice for their next postal and hone their skills for the state shoot.
