IHS Track season getting underway

A large contingent of both girls and boys are reporting for pre-season track and field workouts in Ipswich in preparation for their initial indoor meet scheduled for March 25 at the Barnett Center in Aberdeen.

Their first outdoor meet will hopefully be on April 6 in Ipswich (the Ipswich Early Bird). The season will progress towards the May 20 Region 2B meet in Gettysburg and then the State B at Rapid City on May 28-29.

The Tigers' head coach is Todd Thorson.

Girls first and seniors first! Hailey Bierman, Katelyn Geditz, Lindsey Grabowska, Halle Heinz, Paige Mehlberg and Bailey Pitz are the senior girls this year.

The juniors include Emily DeRaad, Makala DeRaad and Izabella McQuarie.

There are an impressive number of sophomores, as well and they include Katie Bierman, Vanesa Diaz, Madison Geditz, Baylee Kulesa, Gracie Lange, Quincy Olivier, Ashley Ptacek, Ashlyn Weig and Kaitlyn Williams.

Freshmen include Karlie Gohl and Hailey Usselman.

The eighth-graders are and there are a lot - Reaghan Bowers, Sommer DeRaad, Jayda Gisi, Ashlinn Hartwell, Kathryn Kilber, Riley Kleffman, Kaylin Onken and Jaydin Styles.

There will be even more seventh-grade hopefuls, Natalie Crissman, Ava Davis, Brianna Geditz, Madisyn Gellhaus, Marley Guthmiller, Gracyn Kadlec, Sienna Kessler, Josie Knutson, Praise Lange, Alexia Marshall, Charli Rawden, Trinity Reynolds, Gabi Wald, Karlie Weisser and Darby Yost. Sixth graders (not eligible for varsity) are Tristan Geditz, Jalyssa Hutson, Lindsey Mehlberg, Anna Nierman, Madison Olson, Katelyn Tufte, Bella Unser and Hope Wagner.

Now for the Ipswich Tiger boys! Their seniors will be Matthew Hettich, Josh McQuarie, Dylan Owens, Eric Severson and Tyler Tran.

Their juniors include Zach Geditz, Carson Gohl, Ty Kadlec, Jordan Nierman, Lance Parks, Zach Reuschlein and Taylor Thorson.

Sophomore boys are Tyler Hettich, Preston Martin, Austin Rawden, Lucas Roland, Colby Sylte, Turner Thorson, Brady Unser and Darrel Yost.

The freshmen on the roster this season are Cayden Geier, Trevor Heinz, Xavier Kadlec and Dylan Wald.

Eighth-graders are Hayden Crissman, Tucker Kadlec, Maxwell Kulesa and Rasmus Loken.

The seventh-grade newcomers are Nate Bass, Ty Bauer, Brody Davis, Casey Geditz, Mac Heinz, Kyle Hettich, Gunnar Knittel, Tye Pietz, Joshua Rausch, Matthew Severson, Kingston Sylte and Kaden Weig. As well as sixth graders Lane Braun, Tyler Gellhaus, and Clayton Horst.
