Fiddlin' Around

Tena put up a red, blue and white wind sock on a flag pole. You may have noticed the new strange flags on Monday, because that is the 17th of May (Syttende Mai). And they indeed are the Norwegian flags celebrating that country's own birthday similar to the 4th of July in our country. And by the way the 4th seems to come around faster and faster after an all too fast 30-day June.

Tena is partly Norwegian and partly German. I don't know that Germany actually has some sort of a holiday. Quite possibly there is at least a Germans from Russia celebration day, but don't know when because I only have some German on my mother's side that goes a long way back to the colonial days.

May is a busy month. Part of that includes some upcoming post-season 2020-21 high school athletic events that begin with their respective regionals. So good luck to any of our local area athletes still involved, including seniors. They may be graduating this year but would certainly like to help extend their high school sports careers and provide team leadership one last opportunity.
