Sometimes Tena points out articles that I may find interesting. Napping — that is a subject I know about!
Some experts have come to the conclusion that a good night's sleep might not be all that easy for whatever reason(s) and that an afternoon nap might then be beneficial, if not essential.
But they stress that those afternoon cat naps are the most beneficial if they are not too long and that you could even precede them with a cup of coffee. That's right snoozing too long might produce insomnia symptoms the next night, just the opposite of what you'd want to have happen. And too long of a nap could even interfere with your ability to think straight. And that doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun.
The Sleep Foundation has determined that there are several different kinds of naps — The Recovery Nap to recover from too much sleep deprivation the previous night, the Prophylactic Nap taken in preparation for expected sleep loss, the Appetitive Nap for the sheer enjoyment of the nap and the Essential Nap obviously for when you are ill and your body definitely requires the extra sleep.
You can probably invent more types of naps, based on your own experiences!
