Fiddlin' Around

Happy birthday, U.S.A! The Fourth of July is indeed the day to annually celebrate that occasion and this year the Fourth will occur on a Sunday. So various area celebrations might be a little more spread around than other years, since Sunday is on a weekend.

For instance, the state and counties are celebrating on Monday, July 5, as is the federal government, including the Post Office!

And this will have signaled the end of June, as well. That month has passed by way too quickly, which always seems to be true for us at our office. Especially with having to publish five Wednesday newspaper editions during a short 30-day month!

The month of July also means that school athletic events for the 2021-22 seasons are right around the corner! Time will seem to fly by after the long Fourth of July holiday weekend, especially this year.

Speaking of holidays, there was one June holiday that I forgot to mention in this column and that would of course be a new June 19th federal holiday, which is sandwiched between Flag Day on June 14 and Independence Day on July 4.
