The 2021 Edmunds County Achievement Days were held August 4-6 in Ipswich.
The event started on Wednesday morning with the Dog Show with six participants. They were judged on obedience, agility, rally, and showmanship. Top showman awards will be presented at Recognition Night.
The Dog Show was followed by the Cat Show which had eight members showing their cats. The day ended with the Horse Show and Fun Day at the Trail Days Complex. There were seven members participating in a variety of events.
Thursday morning began with the poultry show at 8:30 a.m. followed by the rabbit show.
Static judging started off the afternoon with over 250 exhibits being judged. This included the exhibits by 4-H members, open class, and Cloverbuds. Other afternoon events included a Parade of Animals to the nursing home and weighing of market animals.
The Thursday evening program started with the Pre-4-H Pet Show and the crowning of the 2021 Achievement Day Royalty. The lucky winners were Queen Bridget Fuhrmann, Cloverbud Prince Treyton Hutson and Princess Addison Galbraith.
Jailey Hutson and Baylee Kulesa were the emcees for the program. Carole Curtis collected and announced a Vintage Style Show, with clothes from the 1930's through 2000.
Friday morning started off in the livestock barn with members getting their animals ready for the livestock judging. There were over 140 livestock entered. The livestock show began at 8:30 a.m. with entries in swine, sheep, goat, dairy, and beef. Members enjoyed games led by the junior leaders in the afternoon.
The evening progressed with the annual 4-H Barbeque which had over 300 people enjoying the beef meal. The BBQ was followed by the Pre-4-H Livestock Show and the announcing of the Secret Alumni - Hannah Toennies Holsing. The Family Herdmanship Award went to the Jeremy and Amanda Rawden family. This was followed by the Premium Sale which had 31 entries.
