Hometown Holiday Weekend festivities next week

Plans are in full swing for Ipswich Commercial Club’s fifth annual Hometown Holiday Weekend, planned December 9-11.

Many businesses and organizations are planning specials and treats for this three-day event. Hometown Holiday Weekend flyers can be found in next week’s Ipswich Tribune.

Some of the activities planned include:

• Gingerbread House Contest - open to all ages. Bring your completed display to the Edmunds County Courthouse Community Room by noon on Friday, Dec. 10. Prizes will be awarded.

• The Lighted Lane decorations can be seen in the Bandshell Park and by Avantara.

• The Lighting Ceremony for the Christmas trees in the Courthouse is planned at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10. There will also be entertainment.

• The annual Highway of Hope Holiday Vendor Fair will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday in Father Bormann Hall in Ipswich. There will be a children’s carnival from 10 a.m. until noon and then Santa will visit at noon.

• You can win $100 Ipswich Business Bucks. Sign up at the participating businesses Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
