Robert (Bob) Meyer passed away from cancer on December 15, 2021 in Modesto, Calif.
Bob was born on February 26, 1962, to Don and Dot Meyer of Mina. He was raised on the family farm with his nine siblings and attended Mina School through second grade, when he switched to school in Ipswich. He graduated in 1980 from Ipswich High School and attended Lake Area Vo-Tech. He returned to Aberdeen in the mid-80s and worked at Frey Electronics. He moved to Modesto, Calif. in 1987 and worked for Nextel/Sprint.
Bob was always handy and a lifelong tinker-er. Around 2010, Bob founded a handyman business, Handyman Jack. He and his beloved dog, Patch, spent hours sitting in the yard, reading, and gardening, and enjoying a cup of coffee or wine. Bob loved rebuilding and riding motorcycles along with crafting artistic and functional items around his home. He often took classes at a local college "just because the topic was interesting" and was proud to assist his children with homework and creating adventures.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Dot Meyer.
He is survived by two children, Tara and Sean; four brothers and five sisters, Mike Meyer, Tom (Arlene) Meyer, Chris Whites, Kathy (Byron) Baule, Jeff (JoAnn) Meyer, Pat (Earl) Weisenburger, Barb Perrion, Dan (Susie) Meyer, and Lyn (Steve) Whitney; 23 nieces/ nephews; 28 great-nieces/ nephews.
There is no memorial service planned at this time. Those wishing to remember Bob are encouraged to donate to their local animal shelter or Humane Society in his memory.
