Ipswich singer earns Snow Queen honor

Ipswich High School junior Emily Knoll placed third in the South Dakota State Snow Queen Talent Competition.

Knoll sang a song she wrote her self, "Ghost." She accompanied herself on the piano.

Emily said she has been working on a second song. She is not sure what the future will bring, but she wants to continue working with music.

The senior and junior contestants performed Saturday morning. She said there were five senior division finalists who performed Saturday night during the Junior Snow Queen Festival in the Aberdeen Civic Theater.

The top two winners will perform during the South Dakota Snow Queen Festival.

The senior division winner was Nevaeh Kee of Faulkton. Sadie Brunes of Warner was the second place winner.

The junior division winners were Kendal Uttecht of Wolsey-Wessington, first place; Anna Bisbee of Groton, second; and Laura Robinson of Warner.

The Ipswich junior division contestant was Gracyn Kadlec.
