Ipswich golfers are looking forward to their April 8 season opener in Mitchell, coached by Matt Pollock.
Jacob Bakken, Matthew Jaenisch and Luke Peterson are a trio of senior leaders with 12 total 7-12 IHS boys, making them eligible for their team scoring purposes. They need a minimum three golfers for a team.
Gabe Simon and Evan Onken are two juniors. Trevor Larson, Brooks Osborne, Jace Konsor and Chet Peterson are the sophomores.
Nicholas Fuhrmann and Tucker Kadlec are freshmen. Lewis Judkins is an eighth-grade hopeful.
There are currently three girls, just making them eligible for team standings. They are Rylee Kleffman, Mollie Simon and Hope Wagner. Kleffman is a freshman and they other two are both seventh-graders.
The season will progress along towards the pre-region on May 16 in Pierre and the regionals will be a week later at the same location. (The LRC meet is always one of the highlight on May 5 in Aberdeen, and of course home action at Split Rock Country Club on April 23 and May 19.)
The State B is June 6-7 in Rapid City.
Halie Feldman and the entire boys' team qualified for last year's State B.
