Summary of 47 Junes that I have recorded

The average high temp. for June is now 78 degrees and the low is 54. During the 47 years that I have recorded temps. for June there has been several extremes to these readings. Some of these are as follows:

1976: Warm June – Average high 83° – Five 90° days in a row with 98° the highest – 22 days in the 80s & 90s.

1982: Cool June – Average high 73° – 21 night time reading in the 30s & 40s – Only four days in the 80s.

1985: Frosty morning on June 3rd at a low of 28° – Damage to emerging crops reported – This is the only definite frosty morning that I could find for this month.

1988: Hottest June of my recordings – Average high of 91° – Eleven days in the 90s and seven days in the 100s with 106 on the 21st & 24th the highest – A string of 100° days (6 out of 7 days) from the 18th-25th which averaged 102°.

2021: Second hottest month – Average high of 89°, low 59 – 15 days of 90° plus with the highest of 101 on the 5th – June temps. are becoming warmer with the last ten years increasing the average high and exceeding it.
