Ipswich won a Lake Region Conference football game at Langford last Friday. Believe it or not the hosts briefly led 6-0 courtesy of their defense, a 25-yard pass interception return by Kalen Goedel. The final score, though, would be Ipswich 58-8, as the hosts had also converted their PAT. But the Lions would sustain more than one costly turnover that evening.
Ipswich first got on the board with a 20-yard scoring run by Tyler Hettich and a conversion run by Ian Beyers. The Tigers received another score from Hettich's 14-yard breakaway, putting the Tigers ahead 14-8 after a quarter. And Ipswich would never trail from this point on.
Ipswich's Trevor Heinz caught a 75-yard TD pass from Beyers with a conversion carry by Beyers early in the second quarter. The Tigers would then receive a Beyers to Carter Geditz TD completion, this one only covering nine yards and Max Kulesa also ran for the PAT. Casey Geditz would next find paydirt with a five--yard TD scamper followed by a Beyers to Carter Geditz PAT pass. Casey Geditz would then add a 39-yard touchdown run with his own PAT run.
Then in the third quarter Carter Geditz would also run for a five-yard touchdown, while Casey Geditz would cap scoring with a six-yard TD scamper.
Beyers finished 12-14-1 through the air including his pair of touchdown throws. He totaled 207 aerial yards. Heinz was his favorite receiver with three grabs for 97 yards. Hettich was next with five catches for 61 yards. And the Tigers were able to rush for nearly 188 yards, led by Hettich at four rushes for-67 yards and those two TDs and Casey Geditz was next at 4-70 including his three TD runs.
On the defensive side Carter Geditz led a balanced effort with seven tackles followed by Chet Peterson with four tackles and two sacks.
Ipswich will travel to Warner on Friday for a huge LRC showdown.
