County 4-Hers compete at shoot

The Edmunds County 4-H Shotgun Shooting Sport program had a busy summer shooting to qualify for the state shoot. Shooters spent Wednesday nights at the Ipswich Shooting Range practicing their shotgun skills.

The state shoot was held in Mitchell on September 9-11. Seven shooters from Edmunds County qualified for the state shoot. They were Juniors Lincoln Beyers and Emerald Wittmeier and Seniors Hannah Beyers, Gabe Johnson, Adam Kanable, Trevor Larson, and Kadyn Weisser.

Juniors and Seniors shot 100 rounds of trap. Juniors Lincoln Beyers shot a 76 for a blue ribbon and Emerald Wittmeier shot a 51 for a red ribbon. Seniors Hannah Beyers shot a 42 for a white ribbon, Gabe Johnson shot a 91 for a purple ribbon, Adam Kanable shot an 86 for a blue ribbon, and Kadyn Weisser shot a 61 for a red ribbon.

Several also participated in sporting clays. Juniors shot a round of 25 and seniors shot 50. Junior Lincoln Beyers shot a 11 for a white ribbon. Seniors Hannah Beyers shot a 13 for a white ribbon, Gabe Johnson shot a 27 for a red ribbon, Adam Kanable shot a 23 for a red ribbon, and Kadyn Weisser shot a 19 for a white ribbon.

Gabe Johnson also shot a round of 50 targets in skeet. He shot a score of 30 for a red ribbon.

The Senior Trap Team brought home a red ribbon.
