The Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA)met for the 59th Biennial National Convention in San Juan, Puerto Rico, July 18-23, 2022.

Approximately 600 CDA members from across the nation, including 17 from South Dakota, came together for workshops, business meetings, and time together.

The CDA National board consists of five national officers and nine national directors, all elected officers by the delegates present at the convention. Brenda Anderson of Roscoe was elected as one of the nine delegates.

"It's an honor and full of challenges along the way, but I'm excited to have the chance," Brenda said.

Brenda is assigned states that she will supervise - Iowa, Kentucky, and Virginia. She will visit each state at least twice during her two-year term.

Brenda has been a member of CDA for the past 40 years, helping to establish courts in Roscoe, Lemmon, Chamberlain and Miller. She invites all Catholic women to join the Catholic Daughters of the Americas with its motto of "Unity and Charity."

Brenda and her husband Cliff have been members of St. Thomas Parish in Roscoe for the past 22 years.
