This week I will finish with the unusual Novembers from the last 47 years. Again the average high temp. for November now is 40° and average low is 20. The precip. average is now .62.
2001: An unusual warm month with the average high temp. at 54° – Average low temp. normal – 15 days in the 60s & 70s and four in the 50s – No moisture until the end of the month which measured .47 with 6 inches of snowfall – 5 inches carried over into December.
2005: Thunder was heard on the 12th during a rain event of .15 – This is the latest thunder I have ever recorded.
2007: Second year in a row of no precip. which now makes it four times in November – The other completely dry Novembers were 1980, 1999 & 2006.
2014: Cold month – Average high temp. of only 30° and low average of 12 – Six readings of zero or below with -12 the lowest reading – Extreme cold after the 10th with the average high for the last 20 days of the month of only 21 degrees – Moisture above average at .89 with 8 inches of snowfall.
2018: Another cold month – Average high of only 34° and low at 16 – Three nights of below zero temps. and eight nights in single digits – Only one day time temp. in the 50s and six in the 40s so the rest below normal – Moisture above average at .72 with 5 inches of snow.
(Summary for November next week and then I’ll start on the last month of this project which is now the driest month of the year which is December)
