Floyd Hilden

Floyd Melvin Hilden, age 96, of Watertown, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022, at Huron Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022 at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Rev. Jeff Ruggles officiated.

Burial was at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.

Floyd Melvin Hilden was born August 14, 1926 to Arthur and Ruth (Swanson) Hilden in Hager City, Wis. He lived on the family farm until 1948, when he and two friends went to South Dakota to work in the harvest fields shocking and threshing grain.

It was there that he met the love of his life, Stella Mae Bukaske. They were married at Loyalton in the Wesleyan Church. They farmed and ranched at Loyalton where they raised two children. In 1979, they moved to Watertown.

Floyd and Stella enjoyed traveling in their motor home and visited many places. Floyd also enjoyed crossword puzzles, country music and watching the Minnesota Twins.

He is survived by two children, Susan (Jim) Noyes of Huron and Miriam (Chuck) Erickson of Watertown; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Jeanne McArthur of Seattle, Wash.; and one sister-in-law, Bonnie Anderson of Loyalton.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Stella Mae; four siblings, Phillip, Lawrence, Pauline and Mary; and his parents.

The family requests all memorials to be sent to Grace Point Church.

Active pallbearers were Jim Noyes, Jeff Noyes, Jeremy Noyes, Chuck Erickson, Nathan Skoglund and Becky Knebel.
