The Ipswich School Theatre will be the site of the Region 7B One-Act Play competition. Six schools will present their performances on Wednesday, Jan. 18.
The schools competing are Warner, Edmunds Central, Timber Lake, Lemmon, Faulkton, and Gettysburg (in that order). The competition begins at 9 a.m. with three plays before lunch and three after. All plays can be no longer than 45 minutes and the judge's critiques follow the end of each.
The plays are open to the public.
The top two plays chosen by the judges will qualify for the State One-Act Play Festival in Sioux Falls February 2-4, 2023. The plays will be performed at O’Gorman High School.
Each play has a maximum time of 45 minutes to set up, perform and strike the show. Any production that exceeds 45 minutes will be disqualified. At the end of the 45 minutes, all set pieces must be off the stage, and the stage must be cleaned and ready for the next production.
