Webster tops Tiger girls

Ipswich lost a 46-28 girls basketball outing last Saturday, Jan. 14 in Webster.

The hosts would lead 17-6 after a quarter and 25-14 at the half. They led 40-24 with a quarter to play.

They were led by Harley Johnson’s 12 points and six more Bearcats would score.

Ipswich, meanwhile, was led by Gabby Wald with 11 points, including three treys. Next were Marley Guthmiller and Quincy Olivier with six points apiece. Olivier included one trey. Brianna Geditz scored three points with her trey.

Baylee Kulesa and Anna Nierman each added a free throw.

Webster got 32 rebounds; Ipswich, 38, led by Guthmiller and Olivier with eight apiece.

Ipswich had 30 turnovers; Webster, 20. Webster had 14 steals; Ipswich, six. Karlie Gohl had two of them. The Tigers also had five assists.

Ipswich made five two-point field goals and five treys, plus three free throws. Webster made 10 deuces, seven treys and five free throws.

Ipswich hosted North Central in a doubleheader on Jan. 17. The Ipswich girls would travel to Faulkton on Jan. 19, then the girls and boys would play James Valley Christian in Huron on Jan. 21.
