BARTHOLOMEW OIL STATION HELD UP

James Bartholomew was held up Sunday night about 9:30 p.m. by a motorist who had bought gas at the Ipswich Service station.  $21 was the amount taken.

A stranger drove his car up to the gas pump at the Ipswich Service Station and bought nine gallons of gas. The man gave Mr. Bartholomew a Canadian $10 bill in payment. Mr. Bartholomew went inside the station to make change and the man followed him. The change was handed to the man, who then pulled a gun and ordered Mr. Bartholomew to hold up his away with his loot.

The robber took $21 in currency and did not touch the silver which was also in the cash register.  He got away with his loot and will doubtless do likewise at other places.
