Quinton Wolff, 88, Long Lake, died Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at the Avera Eureka Healthcare Center. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Zion American Lutheran Church, Eureka, led by Pastor Ryan Gage. Interment was Saturday at Salem Lutheran Cemetery, five miles west of Long Lake.
Quinton Ferdinand Wolff, son of Magdalena (Kammerer) and Ferdinand Wolff, was born May 27, 1934 in Petersburg Township 18 miles northeast of Eureka. He was brought up on the same farm and attended country school. He then farmed with his dad. Quinton married Arlene Heyd at Salem Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Long Lake on November 7, 1954. They settled at the Heyd farm three miles west and two miles north of Long Lake. Although Quinton semi-retired in 2012, he continued living on the farm until April 2017 when he moved to the Avera Eureka Healthcare Center.
He was currently a member of Zion Church in Eureka, however most of his life he belonged to Salem Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Long Lake where he sang in the choir for over 30 years and served on the Church Council. He was a Long Lake Volunteer Firefighter, served on the Eureka Equity Exchange Board of Directors, on the Farmers Home Administration Advisory Board, on the FEM Electric Board for nearly 30 years, and was on the Township School Board. Quinton was a kid at heart and he cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed ice cream, playing cards, going for coffee, and playing accordion.
Quinton is survived by Arlene, his wife of 68 years; two sons, Dennis (Robin) Wolff of Long Lake and Wayne (Linae) Wolff of Bismarck, N.D .; two grandchildren, Matt (Kari) Wolff of Oak Grove, Minn. and Kelsey Wolff of Waconia, Minn .; seven step grandchildren, Josh (Melissa) Weigel, Samantha Mathiason, Taylor (Emily) Weigel, Jonica Weigel, Alex (Brittany) Weigel, Janae Pinks, and Jessica Pinks; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ferdinand, on April 12, 1982; his mother, Magdalena, on September 4, 1992; and two sisters, Delores Hilgemann and Alegra Fischer.
Casketbearers were Quinton's sons, Dennis and Wayne; Paul Fischer of Inver Grove Heights, Minn .; grandchildren, Matt and Kelsey; and step grandsons, Josh and Taylor.
Honorary bearers were Quinton's beloved nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
The musicians were Quinton's daughter-in-law Robin, and Ivy Bossert. Ushers were Jim Schumacher and Rodney Hoffman.
