The Edmunds Central Parent Advisory Committee (P.A.C.) invites all women to enjoy a MOMentum event on April 15 in the Roscoe American Legion.
The event begins at 4 p.m. Guest of Honor Angela Kennecke will speak at 4:30 p.m.
Renowned broadcast journalist and founder of the non-profit organization Emily's Hope, Angela Kennecke, will deliver a vital message on the growing epidemic of fentanyl poisoning.
The MOMentum will feature wine tasting, social events, hors d'oeuvres, cash cube sponsored by Drakes Place of Bowdle, raffle prize and more.

Drawing from her distinguished career as an award-winning anchor and investigative reporter for KELOLAND Media Group, Angela's mission is to raise awareness about this critical issue. Her life took an unexpected turn when her daughter, Emily, died from fentanyl poisoning at the young age of 21.
Angela is a veteran investigative journalist with a mission to stop the stigma surrounding addiction and find solutions to the overdose epidemic. Her work took on a personal urgency on the day she learned that her 21-year-old daughter, Emily, died of fentanyl poisoning. Since then, Angela has spoken tirelessly about the issues surrounding addiction and is the founder of "Emily's Hope," a charity that offers hope and treatment scholarships to families struggling with addiction. Emily's Hope has also developed a ground-breaking elementary school prevention curriculum.
Angela is an award-winning journalist whose investigative reporting has led to changes in state laws, and she is a South Dakota Hall of Fame inductee and recipient of the prestigious Silver Circle Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. She is also the author of The Day His Heart Stopped Crying, an inspirational book about second chances.
Through her personal and professional experiences, Angela believes that when tragedy strikes, the only thing you have control over is your response. She is determined to turn her heartbreak into action by erasing the stigma surrounding addiction and advocating for more funding, better treatment, and increased research and understanding of this disease. Angela's work is a tribute to her beloved daughter and to the countless lives lost to overdose/fentanyl poisoning.
