The Ipswich Tigers hope to do some damage in both their girls and boys varsity golf program this year. Yes the girls will indeed be eligible for team scoring purposes as will the Tiger boys. And both the boys and girls are relatively youthful.
The boys attended and won a recent virtual meet in Watertown. Coached by Matt Pollock and assisted by Cody Peterson, the Tiger boys will feature four juniors — Jace Konsor, Trevor Larson, Brooks Osborne and Chet Peterson.
Tucker Kadlec will be a sophomore and there are no eighth-grade or ninth-grade boys. But there are a trio of seventh-grade newcomers in the persons of Samuel Bass, Hayden Schlosser and Jace Stiles. Sixth grade golfers are Ben Hoyle, Brevyn Pitz, Brody Beitelspacher and Jasper Opsahl.
The girls' team will be led by senior Baylee Kulesa. Hailey Usselman is a junior and Rylee Kleffman is a sophomore, while eighth-grader Mollie Simon rounds out the team.
The boys and girls seasons will progress along towards their Region 5B showdowns on May 22 in Huron and their respective State B events starting on June 5 and June 6 in Watertown.
