Florence/Henry Invite
The Ipswich Tiger boys' golf team attended and won a recent Florence/Henry Invitational at the Prairie Winds Country Club on May 11.
The Tigers edged runners-up Webster 257 to 259, while Arlington was third at 277.
Ipswich's Chet Peterson was individually second only to the host team's Logan Vavruska by a single stroke 80 to 81.The Tigers' next scorer would be Jace Konsor in fourth at 84. Tucker Kadlec also dented the Top Ten placing tenth at 92.
Ipswich added a 22nd by Hayden Schlosser at 99 and Trevor Larson finished 31st at 102.
The girls' team leader would be Clark/Willow Lake with its 295. That team's individual leader would become Brynn Roehrich at 76 which would also be the top girl's score that day.
The IHS golfers played in Huron on Monday in the pre-region meet.
James Valley Christian
Both Ipswich and Edmunds Central dented the Top Five in boys varsity golf action at a recent James Valley Christian invite in Huron last week.
But Wessington Springs would win the affair with its 263, shading Ipswich in second by only four strokes. And EC indeed did land in the Top Five placing fifth at 271.
The medalist that day would be JVC's own Ethan Bartholow at 80 with Miller's Derek Brueggeman in second at 81.
Meanwhile Ipswich would be led by Jace Konsor in seventh at 86 and EC's Seth Hettick was next at 87 for eighth. The Tigers' second leading scorer was Chet Peterson in ninth at 87 and EC's Cole Bukaske was 13th at 90. Ipswich's third scorer would be Hayden Schlosser in 22nd at 94. And Harrison Beyers placed 24th for the Raiders in 94 to become their third scorer.
Ipswich would also utilize Tucker Kadlec in 26th at 96 and Trevor Larson in 27th at 96 as well.
Jayce Pugh of Miller won the girls' action at 80 with Jadyn McDonald of Chester in second at 85.
Ipswich did individually enter two varsity girls in the persons of Baylee Kulesa in 22nd at 126 and Rylee Kleffman 24th in 144. (Chester won the girls' team total with its 269, edging Miller's 271.)
