NSU Students win history awards

Two Northern State University students received awards in the 2023 Brown County Historical Society research and writing contest.

First place went to Jaeden Shaving for his paper titled "Let Me Be a Free Man: The Origins and Beliefs of the American Indian Movement." Shaving is a history major from Aberdeen.

Bridget Fuhrmann received third place for "The History of Northern's Fine Art Department." Fuhrmann is a history major with an English minor from Roscoe.

Each of the students received a certificate and a cash prize for their winning papers.
