Ipswich hosts golf invite

Ipswich hosted a high school golf invite on Thursday, May 18.

The hosts would get second in each of the girls and boys divisions, losing to the Webster boys 257 to 268. And Edmunds Central would be third among the boys with their 276.

Blaize Amdahl of Webster was first for the boys at 80 and Wyatt Larson of McIntosh second by a single stroke.

Ipswich's top boy would be Jace Konsor in seventh at 86. Next for Ipswich was Chet Peterson at 91 for 11th who was edged out by EC's Cole Bukaske in tenth at 91. Hayden Schlosser was then next in scoring for the Tigers also with a 91 for 12th. And EC's second golfer was Seth Hettick with his 92 for 13th, followed by teammate Harrison Beyers in 14th with a 93.

Trent Beyers obtained a 98 for the Raiders at 16th and Ipswich's Tucker Kadlec scored 100 for 17th. The hosts' Trevor Larson added a 108 for 23rd.

Maize Baumann of Selby won the girls competition with her 99 and Ipswich's Molly Simon finished second at 101. Her teammate Baylee Kulesa added a fourth at 105, followed by Tiger Rylee Kleffman in 11th at 124 and their teammate Hailey Usselman was next with a 153 for 14th. But Selby would end up as the girls' team winner 317 to 330.

Ipswich and Edmunds Central golf teams participated in the Region 5B Golf Tournament on Monday, May 22 at Broadland Creek Golf Tournament in Huron.
