Ipswich and Edmunds Central golfing boys have earned a trip to the upcoming State B during recent regional action in Huron.
Edmunds Central placed second as a team and will thus advance its entire team intact to the upcoming State B. And Ipswich was only third as a team, but were able to individually advance four golfers. (Sully Buttes was first in the regional boys team standings.)
The Raiders team consisted of Cole Bukaske and Harrison Beyers both in seventh at 86. And Seth Hettick was 15th at 90 with Trent Beyers in 27th at 101.
Ipswich was paced by Chet Peterson with an 83 that was second only to Gavin Colson of Sully Buttes at 82. Ipswich's Jace Konsor then tied for ninth at 87, followed by Tucker Kadlec in 17th at 94 and Hayden Schlosser in 18th at 95.
Ipswich also entered four girls led by Mollie Simon at 112 for 18th. Next would be Baylee Kulesa in 27th at 132, Hailey Usselman 28th at 142 and Rylee Kleffman at 30th with her 156. (Miller's Jayce Pugh won that event at 78.)
The state action will be hosted by Watertown on June 5-6. The boys meet will be at the Prairie Winds Golf Club. The play begins at 8 a.m. on both Monday and Tuesday. Each contestant is scheduled to play 18 holes each day.
