“Team 4-H-Shooting for Success” is the slogan for the 2023 Edmunds County 4-H Achievement Days on August 2-4. Mark your calendars and plan on stopping by to see the accomplishment of local youth. Activities take place at the 4-H Grounds in Ipswich.
Wednesday morning starts off the three days with the Dog Show starting at 8 a.m. followed by the Cat Show. The Horse Fun Day at the Trail Days Complex starting at 4 p.m. will finish off the day.
Thursday kicks off with the poultry show at 8:30 a.m. followed by the Rabbit Show. The judging of static projects will start the afternoon followed by the market animal weigh ins.
The Pork BBQ has been moved to Thursday this year starting at 5 p.m. The day will conclude with the evening program which includes the crowning of the 2023 Royalty, 4-H Pet Show, Project Runway, and announcing of Best of Show winners.
This year’s royalty candidates are Jailey Hutson and Quincy Olivier. Cloverbud Royalty candidates are Sawyer Heilman, Abigail Hoyle, Everly Kadlec, Rylin Nash, Brielle Olson, Jemma Olson, Emma Penfield, Bexley Perrion, Ramsey Roemmich, Wyatt Belcher, Stetson Heilman, Connor Heinz, Emerson Pollock, Brantley Steen, Jack Welsch. The Livestock Show is the main event for Friday. This will begin at 8 a.m. followed by the Pre 4-H Livestock Show.
The three days will finish up with the Friday Program starting at 3 p.m. This show includes the announcement of the Bottle/Bucket Calf winner, Family Herdsmanship Award, and Secret Alumni. It will conclude with the Livestock Premium Sale.
Concessions will be available all three days. They hope to see you there supporting the Edmunds County 4-H Program.
