The NCA 14U Thunder competed in the Girl's Slowpitch State Softball tournament held July 22-23 at Sherman Park in Sioux Falls.
The 14U NCA Thunder took on Redfield first on Saturday and won with a score of 17-7. They next met Absolute Agronomy of Huron and defeated them 15-5. Their final game on Saturday they faced the Dakota Thunder out of Watertown and were defeated 4-11.
Sunday they started to work their way through the loser bracket facing Redfield again. The Thunder defeated Redfield 14-3. They next met Moyer Construction of Watertown and defeated them 15-10. They then met the Dakota Thunder again and got revenge, defeating them 12-2.
That landed them in the championship where they met the Crush out of Watertown. The Crush were able to defeat the NCA Thunder in one game with a score of 16-1, placing the Thunder as state runners-up.
