EC Homecoming activities this week, parade Friday

This week is Edmunds Central School Homecoming. The 2023 theme is “Decades.”

Coronation was Tuesday, Aug. 22 in the ECHS Fine Arts Gym at 7:30 p.m. EC Seniors are Jacqueline Gallardo, Alanna Wiedrich, Ashton Aman, Grant Fischer, Anthony Miller, Mitch Mohr and Krist Sauer.

The Homecoming Parade is Friday, Aug. 25 at 1 p.m. The Junior Class will have a picnic lunch in the Roscoe Park again from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Any local businesses, community organizations, or others in Hosmer, Roscoe, and surrounding communities are welcome to enter the parade. No pre-registration is required. The route will begin at the park and all participants are asked to be there before 12:45 p.m. to receive their entry number.

The parade will begin on the west side of the Roscoe City Park and travel south on North Broadway Street, turning west on Morgan Ave., then North on North Andrew Street. EC elementary students will line up on the south side of the Edmunds Central School along First Ave. NE for the floats to pass by and hand out candy at the conclusion of the parade. Parade entries can leave to the north or south on North Mitchell Street.

The Edmunds Central PAC is planning a Parking Lot Party at the school after the parade until 3:30 p.m. There will be games, floats, and Hub City events.

Saturday the PAC is planning Homecoming Paint Wars open to EC 6-12 students at the Roscoe Baseball Field on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. Bowdle and Eureka MS and HS students are also welcome. All participants must complete a waiver. There is a fee. Kids must wear clothes that can be stained. Supervision and protective eyewear will be provided.

Yard games, paint wars, music and more are planned.

The Mary & Martha food truck will have food available.

The event is open to the public.

Homecoming Athletics

The North Central volleyball will host Potter County in Roscoe on Thursday evening. Pep Rallies are planned Thursday afternoon.

Friday evening the North Central JV football team will play McLaughlin in Eureka.

The Cross Country team will compete in the Mobridge/Pollock Invitational in Mobridge at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26.
