Thunder VB opens season with win

The North Central Thunder girls volleyball team opened its season with a 3-0 win over Potter County last Thursday in Roscoe.

The set scores were 25-19, 25-18 and 25-14 respectively.

The Thunder used a 84-104 hitting effort that featured 29 kills. They were led by Amree Vander Vorst at 23-25 with nine kills and Billy Jo Hoffman went 14-19 with six kills. That was all set up by their 119-123 setting effort that included 25 assists. Sydney Bertsch was 96-99 with 19 assists and Makenzie Kaiser was 8-8 with two assists.

There was also an advantage at the service line for NC which finished 66-74 with nine aces. Jenisa Jacobs went 17-19 with three aces and Natalie Bieber was 15-16 with two aces.

Hoffman also went 14-16 with two aces. And Vander Vorst was 10-10 with one ace.

The Thunder had 64 digs led by Jacobs with 16 and Vander Vorst added 12 digs. They also utilized 13 blocks led by Ella Batie with five and Bieber added four.

This event definitely help celebrate the EC homecoming.
