Healing Ride riders

Riders, members of the Whitestone Hill Healing Ride, headed north of Ipswich on their way to Leola on Sept. 1. They were part of the Healing Ride on their way to Whitestone Hill State Historical Site near Kulm, N.D.

They spent the night in Ipswich on Aug. 31.

The Ride commemorates the Sept. 3, 1863 battle when the U.S. Army led by Brigadier General Alfred Sully attacked a Native American encampment at Whitestone Hill.
