Ipswich hosts Cross Country meet, NC boys place third

Ipswich hosted a Saturday morning cross country invitational at their athletic complex.

The Miller boys and Potter County girls won their respective varsity team events. Individually Alex Schumacher of Miller claimed the boys varsity race, while Autumn Fallis of Highmore-Harrold captured the girls event.

North Central did place third as a team for the boys and the NC girls were fifth.

The Thunder were led by Gabe Johnson's seventh in 17:56.23. And Anthony Miller was tenth in 18:10.48. Next would be Drew Arbach, placing 18th in 19:06.98, followed by Avery Wells in 19:07.75 for 19th and Keagan Miller's 20th in 19:29.79. Theo Haerter rounded out their effort in 24th at 19:52.33.

Ipswich, meanwhile, entered two varsity boys, led by Xavier Kadlec who was ninth in 18:03.88. Tyler Gellhaus placed 25th in 20:04.25.

Ipswich also joined the girls' varsity division with Madisyn Gellhaus in third at 20:06.87 and Gracyn Kadlec's 15th at 21:46.87.

North Central landed three girls in their varsity outcome, paced by Grace Roth 19th in 23:14.56. Kassandra Abbas added a 20th in 23:25.37 and Melanie Dallenbach became their third scorer, placing 21st in 23:27.83.

The runners dealt with intermittant rain showers.

The Ipswich team was scheduled to compete in Webster on Monday. They compete at the Battler Invitational in Gettysburg on Sept. 16.

North Central will run in the Chamberlain Invite/Big Dakota on Sept. 14 at the Chamberlain Country Club in Oacoma.
