Ipswich participated in a high school volleyball tourney hosted by Mobridge-Pollock last Saturday. The IHS Tigers dropped a 2-0 decision to North Central 25-15 and 25-16. They then also lost to Timber Lake 25-18 and 25-20, doing quite a bit better.
Versus North Central they had 16 kills led by Marley Guthmiller at 22-23 with five kills. Natalie Crissman was next at 12-13 with three kills and Kaylin Onken went 12-12 with three kills. Setting duties were mostly handled by Reagan Bowers at 26-29 with six assists.
Their serving was led by Guthmiller at 7-7 with one ace. They were 28-32 with two aces as a team. In digging they were able to come up with 20 digs, led by Josie Knutson with five.
Against Timber Lake they were 53 of 74 at the net including 16 kills. They were paced by Gabby Wald at 14-18 with seven kills and Guthmiller at 13-19 with six kills. Next would be Onken at 11-17 with two kills.
You may credit Wald with nine serves that featured two aces and her team totaled 29 accurate serves including four aces. In setting they were able to dish out 15 assists, led by Bowers with six assists. Rylee Kleffman and Jayda Gisi added one block assist apiece, while their team totaled four assisted blocks. Charli Rawden had four digs and Kathryn Kilber contributed three digs. The Tigers would total 18 digs.
The Tigers were scheduled to play Warner there on Tuesday. Then they face Northwestern on Thursday in the Tiger Den. Ipswich will host the Subway Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 16.
