North Central at cross country in Chamberlain

North Central attended a cross country event in Chamberlain last Thursday.

The NC girls placed 12th as a team behind the host team Chamberlain (which placed first) and 11 more teams. The NC boys, meanwhile, were sixth among their 18 eligible scoring teams with 76 team points. Philip won the boys event with 15 points.

The individual boys winner proved to be Miller's Alex Schumacher with his 16:40 run. Kinsey Evans of Chamberlain won the girls individual event with her 19:40 clocking.

Girls first! The top NC girl that day would be Grace Roth 38th in 24:21, closely followed by teammate Kassandra Abbas in 39th at 24:30. And Melanie Dallenbach was 60th in 29:17. That translated into 119 Thunder team points.

Now for the Thunder boys! Gabe Johnson placed 20th in 18:43. Next would be Anthony Miller in 35th at 19:42. Their third scorer would be Avery Wells in 39th at 19:48. Drew Arbach added a 42nd in 19:52. Keegan Miller had a 21:28 for 67th, followed by Theo Haerter 68th at 21:31.

North Central: 8-Mikaela Malsom, 20:43; 15-Lily Roth, 23:13; 21-Sophie Kroll, 24:37

Boys 4K Junior Varsity results:

North Central: 7-Jason Arbach, 17:56; 20-Noah Ingerson, 19:36

Girls 3K Middle School results:

North Central: 19-Katherina Malsom 13:49; 50-Olivia Matott, 15:57; 59-Unity Wolmarans, 17:03; 62-Gwen Pruskowski, 17:55

Boys 3K Middle School results:

North Central: 23-Hayden Sprague, 12:30

The NC runners will compete in the Lakeside Invitational in Faulkton today, Sept. 20. They run in the Miller Invitational on Monday.
